Gift ideas for passionate travelers

We all have that friend who is always traveling: the one always ready to book a flight, plan itineraries, throw a few clothes into a suitcase and leave with little to no notice, constantly looking for new places to visit. Extroverted character and an open mind are the hallmarks of those who have a thirst for knowledge and adventure and wish to explore even the most inhospitable areas to experience unique thrills. But what should you give such rich and complex personalities so as not to seem mundane? It is not an easy choice: the most classic gifts and accessories, useful for both transfers and stays, are certainly always very welcome. But why settle for something predictable when you can look for a more original and sophisticated gift, an idea capable of pleasantly surprising the birthday person? We have compiled a list of gift ideas for travelers for you, some simpler, others decidedly unexpected and suitable for different budgets. Discover them with us!   Gifts for travelers: the great classics     A backpack When thinking of a classic gift for a traveler, the collective imagination runs to the backpack which, in addition to being useful, is perfectly associated with the idea of travel, freedom, and discovery. Travelers know it: a spacious backpack with many pockets and, above all, comfort can make all the difference on a road trip and change (for the better) the travel experience itself. After all, who would want to tackle long walks with something uncomfortable on their shoulders? Investing in a well-made backpack might be a solution that is perhaps not very original, but certainly very appreciated. A guidebook The idea that guidebooks are only for obsessive planners is completely wrong. While it is true that the most meticulous travelers often hold maps and guides, it is also true that the latter, especially in recent years, have changed a lot. Today, it is easy to find unusual guides, from culinary to artistic ones, to discover the less conventional and over-saturated side of the places you are going to visit. Want to bet it will be highly appreciated? A travel toiletry bag Toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush, as well as razors, perfume, medicines, bandages. Travelers know it well: apart from clothes, the real nightmare of a suitcase is that myriad of small things that you have to remember and that often get lost in the thousand pockets. For this reason, pouches and containers are always welcome. A comfortable travel toiletry bag will be appreciated by men and women alike. And if they are truly "pro" travelers, they will always keep it full of everything necessary, ready to be grabbed for the next trip! Travel companions: a Polaroid, a journal, a thermal water bottle Traveling means first and foremost having experiences and creating memories. And, as wonderful as it is to live them, there is often an equally urgent desire to capture them and fix them in memory. This is why travelers take so many photos. We are now used to snapping away with our smartphones or digital cameras, yet the charm of a Polaroid remains timeless: it is its ability to freeze the moment, with no second chances. Alternatively, for more introverted types or perhaps lovers of writing, a travel journal is ideal for jotting down experiences, people met, and one's own reflections as a passionate traveler. And if the traveler you need to give a gift to is a less contemplative and more dynamic person? A thermal water bottle is the essential accessory for those who travel the world, for athletes, and for those who enjoy hiking. And it is a green choice, therefore eco-friendly!   Original gifts for travelers: a Zoffoli Globe   Backpacks, water bottles, and unconventional guides are certainly items that will please those who love to travel, but let's face it: they lack the surprise factor. They will hardly be able to convey wonder and amazement: two emotions that a traveler spasmodically searches for! So why not aim for an original and refined gift? Zoffoli Globes are the perfect solution to ensure that the recipient can travel even when they are at home, remembering the places visited and planning future trips. Refined and certainly unexpected, they are a furnishing element of undeniable charm, capable of satisfying both the needs of those who prefer a classic style and those who appreciate minimalism. In choosing, you can range between tabletop and floor-standing types, without forgetting one of the jewels in the crown of our production: the Zoffoli globe bar. Each piece is handcrafted with high-quality materials and meticulous details. And, depending on preferences, you can opt for a contemporary map, vintage ones, or geographical maps with fascinating mythological references. The tabletop globes from the Elegance line, Scorpius and James Cook, offered with blue, ochre, and burgundy globes, are authentic works of art dedicated to those who want the best. The luxurious line also offers classic and modern floor-standing globes, such as Vasco da Gama, Aries, and Apollo, embellished with contemporary, political, and 16th-century maps. Undeniable style, great charm, and different types of geographical maps also for the original Globe Bar, equipped with an internal compartment and offered in both classic lines and modern designs. Equally splendid is the Prestige Line, which features luxury globes made entirely in our country: numerous sculptural proposals for special gifts, such as Bridge or the striking Quadra. There is also no shortage of refined floor-standing globes such as Artico, an enchanting structure with elegant lines, the choreographic Vertigo, or the majestic Sirio and Colosso. If the desire is to give an important gift to a traveler, something unique and inimitable, what is more extraordinary than giving them the world?   Globes, and more: give an Antique Print   Elegance and luxury characterize the fine Zoffoli globes but, if for some reason the idea does not convince you completely, on our site you will find a valid alternative to give to a traveler: our wonderful Antique Prints. Made of pure cotton paper and mounted on pure cotton canvas, they are engraved with a hand press and reproduce perspective views of Italian and foreign cities. These are historical reproductions that, if desired, can be handcrafted and painted in watercolor: they are therefore unique pieces that are as beautiful as they are precious. It is up to you to choose what to give: a planisphere to dream in grand style? The destination that the recipient of your gift has always dreamed of visiting or perhaps carries in their heart? Or perhaps the print that depicts their city, to remind them of their roots and the place from which all their fantastic trips begin? How is an antique Zoffoli canvas made?

When you think of the Zoffoli brand, the first association is, naturally, decorative globes: Bar Globes, Table and Floor Globes that have fascinated customers around the world for decades. But these are not the only luxury furnishings the company creates. Among its crowning jewels, in fact, are the antique canvases depicting city views and planispheres, handmade and perfect for passing on tradition and the past to the present day. These are carefully crafted products, following a precise process that begins with paper design and leads to the hand-coloring of the maps. The antique canvases that Zoffoli creates can be divided into two groups: on one hand, antique planispheres and world maps, with borders and details faithful to the era in which they were created. Among these are the Jaillot planisphere, the northern and southern celestial planispheres and the terrestrial globe, as well as Weigel's Europe and Antonio Rizzi-Zannoni's Italy. Zoffoli also creates antique canvases with splendid views of the most famous Italian cities, such as Naples, Rome, Venice, Florence, Milan, Turin, and Perugia. An antique view of Paris is also available. But what are all the steps in the creation of these refined canvases?   Conception and creation of the draft The first phase of creating these elegant canvases concerns the choice of the map and its design, with a meticulous calculation of measurements, proportions, and dimensions: the design must in fact be adapted based on the canvas and the material on which it will be reproduced (in our case, pure cotton). We then proceed with the creation of a draft: every map has its own peculiarities and details, and it is in the attention to the smallest aspects that the beauty and value of what will ultimately be the produced canvas lie.     Processing and drying When all the details are definitively planned, the practical, more distinctly manual part begins. To obtain the final product, it is first necessary to print the design in many small squares that will be assembled together at a later time.   Each sheet, made of pure cotton, is printed and engraved using a hand press and zinc plates: ink is placed on the press, while the sheet is laid over the zinc plate so that it can wrap around the press itself for printing and engraving. This phase requires great precision and, above all, quick movements to avoid ruining the edges of the various designs. Once all the individual squares of the canvas have been printed and engraved, we proceed to the assembly phase on a large canvas, also made of pure cotton. After all the sheets have been joined, the final product must be left to dry for days so that it does not fall apart. It is important to specify that every reproduction, even though it represents the same subject, is a unique collector's item: given the particular printing method, in fact, no two pieces are exactly alike.   Antique canvases: hand-coloring The final, very important phase is the coloring of the canvases, carried out upon customer request. This is a process performed by skilled artisans who masterfully use the watercolor technique to ensure that the print reproduces the same tones as the original drawing.   The creation of these antique canvases is a meticulous process that requires an attention to detail and craftsmanship experience that few companies still offer today. Having an antique canvas in one's home is not just a indulgence of beauty and luxury: through these prints, Zoffoli keeps the past alive and passes it on to the present day. The prints, in fact, allow us to remember our roots through a glimpse of our beloved cities or the world as our ancestors knew it. A way to keep Italian artisanal tradition and the memory of a bygone time alive, while simultaneously furnishing one's home with refined and original home accessories.
